Pre-requiem mass held for Monsignor Abuah-Quansah in Mpohor

A pre-requiem mass was today held in Mpohor for Monsignor Dr Francis Abuah Quansah, Apostolic delegate of the diocese of Sekondi-Takoradi diocese, who died on January 6, 2020.

Monsignors John Paul Mesu and Austin, Rev. Fr Anthony Gyan, A.E Amoah, former Western regional minister, Ignatius Asaah Mensah, Mpohor DCE, Rev. Albert Abraham of the Assemblies of God Church, and other priests in the diocese joined the congregation to celebrate the mass.

Theophilus, Paul, Tony, Mary, Regina Abuah, all the siblings, family and friends were also present to celebrate the life of this great priest of the Catholic Church.

Monsignor Austin of the Essisado parish, who preached the sermon, extolled the values of Monsignor Abuah Quansah, and reiterated the essence of “Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine”- '“Give them eternal rest, O Lord”.

"Be Apostles of the gospel and continue the good works of Monsignor Abuah Quansah", Monsignor Austin told the congregants.

Abuah Quansah, an expert in ecclesiastical law, and a native of Mpohor in the Western Region, was also a former rector of St. Paul's Major Seminary, Sowutuom. He was ordained a priest in 1976 and died at age 69.

He will be buried on February 13, 2020, together with Rev. Fr. Paul Awuah.
