The Tamso Society of the Mount Zion Methodist Youth Fellowship has donated quantities of stationery worth GHc 1,700 to the Angels of Hope Orphanage at Tarkwa for the upkeep of the inmates.

The items were 500 exercise books, 28 school bags and other learning materials.

Making the presentation at a brief ceremony, Mr. Ebenezer Quayson, the Chairman of the Youth Fellowship said the items were made available by members of the society and other donors in the church.

He said as followers of Christ one of their core objectives was to enhance the upkeep of all children, irrespective of where they found themselves.

Mr. Quayson noted that the Methodist Church was not only interested in the welfare of its members, but also shared equal responsibility to support the country's development, especially the unfortunate in society.

He said children in orphanage homes could excel in future and occupy higher positions if they received the needed assistance in their education.

The chairman, therefore, appealed to stakeholders to support the home either in cash or in kind.

Receiving the items, Madam Esi Antobam, the Managing Director of the Home, expressed her appreciation to the donors for the gesture,

She said the home needed support from organizations, individuals and philanthropists for the upkeep of its inmates.
