Pastor preaches against deception and cheating

The clergy have been urged to have the courage to denounce and expose fake pastors and prophets, hiding behind the Bible to deceive and dupe unsuspecting people.

The Reverend Dennis Ampofo-Nimako, Pastor in-charge of the Asomdwe Baptist Church at Abuakwa-Asonomaso in the Atwima-Nwabiagya District, said all manner of things are being done in the name of God to make money.

“Families are being torn apart and relations are turning sour, all by the greed, dishonesty and criminality of self-professed Men of God.”

He said the increasing commercialisation of the gospel is something that must bother every genuine Christian and that the only option is to fight and defeat them with true Bible teachings.

The Rev. Ampofo-Nimako was delivering a sermon to bring down the curtains on a four-day camp meeting held by the church at Abuakwa-Asonomaso, on the theme: “United under the Cross.”

He called for the intensification of the church’s evangelism, to help people to have a better understanding of the Bible and protect them against false doctrines and manipulation.

He reminded the congregation to reflect Christ-like qualities of humility, modesty and self-discipline.

He asked Christians not only show love and affection for the poor, the sick, the needy and the vulnerable in the society, but go the extra mile to share what they have with them.
