The existing of God by nature and science

I meet some atheists and I really had a hectic time trying to convince them the existence of a great Supreme Being who owns the heavens and the earth. I thought it wise to put the bible aside and use nature and science to prove that there is a great God who has the world in his palms I am a science student and we are taught to believe only what we can demonstrate. And there is a rule I would like us to think about. Everything made have a maker. When things fit together for one purpose, we know they were planned.

One day I saw a tailor cutting cloth of different shapes .I couldn’t see what the pieces were for. But as the tailor sewed them, they fitted together perfectly to make a shirt. Things in nature fit together, too. Think about living beings and their need for air. Air is so common that we hardly realize its value. But even though we could live for several weeks without food, and for several days without water, no plant, animal, or person could live more than a few minutes without air. There is nitrogen for the plants, oxygen for the animals. And there is just the right amount of each. Not too much and not too little. If there were little oxygen, men and animals would suffocate. If there were too much oxygen, one spark could set the world on fire. “Now if the air just happened to exist and living things just happened to grow, what made them fit together so well? How did the animals get lungs to take oxygen out of the air? How did plants get tiny holes in their leaves to take nourishment from the air? How did they know there would be air for them to breathe? And how did the air get made into just the proper mixture for living things? Could all this have happened by chance?

My second point is, when we see laws, we know there is a government that made the laws. On the highways there are lines down in the middle, and all vehicles travel on their appointed side. At intersections there are red, yellow and green traffic lights to keep cars from bumping into one another. We know that the government made these rules, so that traffic could move easily without accidents. “There are traffic laws in the sky, too. There are millions of stars in the sky, but they never collide. The heavenly bodies move in their set path according to an exact schedule. Astronomers tell time by the stars. They are never late by even a fraction in a second. Scientific have found that there are exact law that govern everything in nature, from the tiny atom to the biggest star. They know the temperature at which water boils and freezes, they know the speed of falling object, they know the laws of magnetism and electricity.Beacause nature following these laws exactly, scientific are able to use them to make radios, aeroplanes, rockets, and all the wonders we have today. Do not these laws show that there is a great government which rules over earth and sky? Do they not show the power and wisdom of a great Supreme Being When we see a machine working we know that someone has designed it and made it for a purpose. Men have made some very complicated machines. But I want you to think of the most wonderful machine of all – the human.

Your brain is a wonder of electric wiring. It knows what you see, feel, hear and taste. It can think and rememeber. It, with the special cord, controls all the organs of the body and all your movement. If men were to make a machine like it, they would need a building many storeys high to hold all the wiring. And it still not to do all the things your brain can do. “The human machine is better than the man-made machines. When it is cut or broken, it can repair itself. Most machines break down after a few years, and the parts need to be changed or thrown away. But your body renews itself from the food we eat, so that every few years you are a new person with a new skin, hair blood, bones and organs. Most machines cannot run for long periods without stopping to cool off and rest. But your heart can keep going for sixty or seventy years without missing a beat. No man made machine can have babies that will grow into big machines, but the human body can reproduce itself. The human female egg is as big as a dot, the male germ cell is so small it can be seen only through a microscope. Think of what those tiny cells contain, the power to become a new person. Those tiny cells start growing into head, arms and legs, heart, lungs, brain, the whole complex human machine . But this is not all. When we see a child we say ‘He has his mothers eyes, he sings like his father. He learns quickly like his grandfather’. And all these qualities were passed on through those tiny little cells. What great power was wrapped up in such tiny packages. The body is such a wonderful machine that not even the greatest doctors understands all about it. Someone much wiser and more powerful than man made it.

Who is He? GOD

When we see design and beauty, we know that it was planned also. When we see trees planted in a rows we know that they did not grow that way by themselves. Someone measured the ground and planted them. Even so the rows of petals on a flower or the rows of maize on a cob tells us, God designed us this way. It is he who made the world beautiful. He took the cool colours of green and blue and painted the earth and sky. Then he added bright flowers and fluffy white clouds to delight our eyes. And yet some people think that all the things of nature just happened by chance. Could the elements of wind, fire, water and earth have organized themselves to make all the living and non-living things in our world? A watchmaker once said, there are several dozen parts to a simple watch. I can teach a worker to put one together in a short time. But he can put those parts in a pan and shake them around for a million years, and they will never make a watch. Could then the parts of a flower, or tree, or man have come together by themselves?

Yes, its true that almost everything has a beginning and an ending. But what about time? Did that ever have a beginning? Will it ever end? No. No matter how far back or how far ahead we may think, we never get to the end. Our minds cannot graps it. Time is not small, our minds are small. Think of the sky. Take an imaginary ride on a rocket ship past the moon, the sun, the stars. Will you ever come to a wall that is the edge of the sky? No it has no end and no beginning. The sky is not small. Our minds are small God is as great as time and space. He inhabits eternity. He is not small, our minds are small. Let us not try to make him as small as we are.

Rom 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! Isaiah 57:15 For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite. Isaiah 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Isaiah 40:28

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.

Psalm 90:2

Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
