Bishop calls for honesty in national life

The Right Reverend Francis Benjamin Quashie, Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese of the Anglican Church, has called on public office holders to promote honesty to ensure equity and fairness.

He said despite the abundant resources in Ghana, many people wallow in poverty because there is no honesty in the public service.

Bishop Quashie said the financial malpractices cited by the Auditor General’s report and issues surrounding payment of judgement debts are a source of concern.

He was speaking at the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of GHc301,000 Mission House for the Obo Saint Paul Anglican Church.

The two-storey building to be constructed in phases would provide accommodation for the local priest and serve as offices for the church.
