Put general good of society ahead of individual convenience

People entrusted with leadership positions have been reminded to ensure that they put the general good of the society ahead of individual comfort and convenience.

The Right Reverend James Baffour Awuah, former Methodist Bishop of Sunyani, said they needed to demonstrate high level of integrity, transparency and humility to sustain the trust and confidence of those they are leading.

Rt. Rev. Awuah was delivering the sermon at an induction service held for the newly elected president of the Kumasi Diocesan Methodist Women’s Fellowship, Mrs Dora Twuamsi Boama, at Aldersgate Methodist Church at Buokrom Estate.

The Rt. Rev. Baffour Awuah, who is the Superintendent Minister of the New Tafo Circuit, spoke on the theme: “Power and the Kingdom of God”.

He said it should never be lost on leaders that as mortals they would one day be called to account for their deeds and that was why they should at all times be mindful of whatever they did – actions and decisions they took.

He counseled the new president to rely on the guidance of God to successfully manage the affairs of the organization for the next three years.

Rt. Rev. Baffour Awuah advised her to avoid becoming either puffed up with pride or arrogance.
