Let's not jeopardize future of Youth - Bishop Ahenkorah

Tema, Feb. 15, GNA - Bishop James Yaw Ahenkorah, General Secretary of the Church of the Lord Brotherhood, has said that it was important the future of the youth of the country was not jeopardized. He said parents must ensure that their children were guided by the teachings and principles of the Bible, which would enable them to lead upright and morally good lives. Bishop Ahenkorah made these remarks at a thanksgiving service to clima= x the 24th Annual Laity Delegates Congress organised by the Tema Diocese of the Church at Community Five at the weekend.

The three-day Congress was under the theme: 93Reaching Out to the People." Bishop Ahenkorah reminded ministers of God's word of their spiritual and physical growth and development, in order to reach out to the people with the Gospel of Christ. He urged them to continue to preach against social vices, such as sex abuse, armed robbery and indecent dressing so that the nation could be assured of good future leaders.

Archdeacon James Kwabena Baidoo, Minister-in-charge of all Senior Laities of the Church, advised religious bodies to continue to grow on the knowledge of the word in order to minister effectively to those in society. Archdeacon Baidoo underscored the need for the well-to-do in society to reach out to their less privileged brothers and sisters, by providing them with their basic necessities of life. Senior Apostle (retired) Wimfred Boakye-Agyemang, who shared his 50 years' experience in the Ministry, advised pastors of the Church to live in peace with one another, so that collectively, they could evangelize and win more souls for Christ. 1
