Re-Bishop Pleads With President Mills To Be Father For All

The Anglican Bishop of Kumasi, Rt. Rev. Dr. Yinkah Sarfo has pleaded with President Mills to make good his promise of being a father for all.

According to the Anglican Bishop of Kumasi, a promise is a promise and its fulfillment must not be done selectively, especially when it is made to all Ghanaians and NOT TO A SELECTED FEW. “The Pioneer, Wednesday 24th November, 2010.

The Bishop stated that the President must HALT the behavior whereby some people are made to face the law when they are alleged to have committed offences WHILE OTHERSARE LEFT OFF EVEN WHEN THEY COMMIT SIMILAR OR BIGGER OFFENCES.

The Anglican Bishop did not cite a single example neither did he mention names of those who committed BIGGER offences and were left off the hook. He also failed to mention the names of those who committed lesser offences and were made to face the law in Ghana. Was the Rt. Rev. Dr. Yinkah Sarfo not in Ghana when Ex-President J. A. Kuffour asked several public servants to proceed on leave and they remained on leave without pay for 8 years until the President left office in 2009? Were they not dismissed because they were perceived to be NDC members in 2001? On June 2001, Mr. Samuel Mensah, the personal body guard of Ex-President Rawlings was illegally arrested and detained over night by the BNI and finally released without any charges being preferred against him.

On September, 21st 2001, four of Ex-President Rawlings body guards – Messrs Kuntor, Anyomu, Budu and Adotey all now retired, were arrested and detained for allegedly “Being in possession of unlicensed weapons” a charge which turned out to be false. Did the NPP government expect the personal body guards of Rawlings to protect him with broom sticks and candles? At the University of Ghana, Legon Campus, Nana Akuffo Addo a former Attorney General in the NPP government told the students in June n2001 that the NPP will expose all the skeletons in the NDC members cup boards and THOSE WHO DON”T HAVE SKELETONS, THEY WOULD STILL PUT SKELETONS IN THEIR CUPBOARDS AND JAIL THEM ALL. Today, Nana Akuffo Addo is the flag bearer of the NPP. The former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings went to and from the court for 8 good years and she would have been jailed with hard labour if the NDC had lost the general elections in 2008 and 2009. Honourable Bishop, were you NOT in Ghana? Under the NPP government, Ghanaians were governed by THE RULE of MAN and NOT THE RULE of LAW for 8 years and Ghana’s CLERGY plugged their ears and closed their eyes and pretended NOT to HEAR or SEE what was happening in Ghana for 8 years. I have CITED several examples which are all FACTUAL, the Bishop should have done the same instead of standing behind the pulpit to mislead Ghanaians. After January 7th 2001, most NDC government officials had “CRIMINAL” cases to answer to one or more of the BNI, SFO, POLICE, FAST TRACK COURT, CHRAJ the newly created SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS TASK FORCE (SITF) or their so-called RECONCILIATION COMMISSION. Therefore, the freer speech, freer press and RULE of LAW promised by the NPP in 2000 was seen by most Ghanaians as a BIG HOAX between 2001 and 2008 with their POSITIVE change becoming a NEGATIVE change. No Bishop in Ghana opened his mouth to plead with Ex-President Kufour or even condemn his government for harassing NDC functionaries for 8 years – no Bishop pleaded with Ex-President Kufour to stop the selective justice in his government why now?

I am appealing to the Anglican Bishop of Kumasi to cite a single instance where President Mills government has indulged in “Selective Justice” in the country because it is Now VERY EASY for opposition NPP members to get jobs in the Mills administration rather than NDC supporters or cadres in the NDC party. Most NPP members are still at post on the orders of President Mills and if that is the case why did you use the Pulpit to plead with the President to make good his promise without any proof? Simply put on an NPP “T” shirt and meet this writer and many NDC supporters on the political platform and we thrush it out and canvass for votes in the 2012 general elections. You must prove what you said in public or KEEP QUIET, is that clear? Come again, in the Name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit – Amen. I am done.
