Asylum Down Presbyterian Church children donate to Osu Home

Accra, Dec.20, GNA - The Children's Service of the Asylum Down Presbyterian Church on Sunday donated items worth GH¢2000.00 to the Osu=

Children's Home with an appeal to parents not to shirk their responsibilities. The donation was made up of a cash amount of GH¢300.00, bags of ri= ce, gallons of cooking oil, toilet roles, fruit juice, biscuits and bundles o= f sachet water among other things.

Mr Ohene Kwafo, an Elder of the Church who presented the items said,=

the donation was initiated by the Sunday School children to show love to their less privileged friends who, for no flaw of theirs, were being cate= red for by the home instead of their parents. He said parents must take the upkeep of their children seriously no matter how difficult circumstances were.

Mr Kwafo encouraged parents to plan their families in order to give birth to the number of children they could adequately take care of. He called on individuals' organizations and families to donate generously to the home even if it was something little. "Don't wait to have plenty before you give, such time will never com= e. The little you have, give it out," he said. Mr Kwafo noted that the yuletide is a season of sharing gifts and t= hat the Church, through the Children Service, demonstrated this just as God g= ave Christ as a gift to the world. Madam Cecilia Baffoe, Senior Child Care Officer, thanked the Church= , especially the Children Service, for the benevolence.

She asked other churches, organisations and individuals to follow their step and make the yuletide memorable for the children in the home. 20 Dec. 09
