Seven deacons, priest ordained by Anglican Diocese of Accra

Prampram, July 24, GNA - A Reverend Canon of the St. Margaret's Episcopal Church Charlotte North Carolina has urged Christian leaders to build a socially responsible church as a way of emulating Jesus Christ. "We don't want a church where leaders put themselves first, but rather a church that would visit the sick, welcome strangers, feed the poor and provide social needs to its locality" he said

Rev Canon Filmore Strunk Jnr gave the advise at the ordination of seven deacons and a priest, Rev. Victor Samuel Victor Nii Akoto Dodoo of the various parishes of the Anglican Diocese of Accra at Prampram on Sunday. The Bishop of Accra, the Most Rev. Dr Justice Ofei Akrofi, ordained them.

He appealed to Christian leaders to be servants in the church adding, "you must let the servant work be on your heart instead of attaching to your heart the love of money and the things of the flesh". The Parish Priest of the St Joseph Anglican Church, Prampram, Rev Father Isaac Quartey, said the Anglican Diocese of Accra had a vision of reaching out to all parts of the Dangme East and Dangme West districts.
