Youth urged to live Christian life

Manso-Nkwanta (Ash), Dec 27, GNA - Dr. Kojo Wireko-Brobbey, Head of Department of Sociology and Social Work of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has asked the youth to live Christian life to enable them to become responsible citizens.

He said this when he addressed over 3,000 Catholics and non-Catholic youth meeting at Manso-Nkwanta at the end of a three-day celebration of 'Corpus Christi', the greatest feast in the Catholic Church and celebration of youth day at Manso-Nkwanta in the Amansie West district.

Speaking on the theme, "Life Situation of the Youth", Dr Wireko-Brobbey said three ways a person needed to live a decent life was to know God, love Him and service Him and always read the Holy Bible. He asked them to live inter-dependent lives to become good adults. Dr Wireko-Brobbey condemned the bad habit of some Ghanaians who used their knowledge to cheat others, adding that the greatest obstacles militating against the way of life of Ghanaian now was bribery and corruption, an issue now being championed by the Catholic Bishops' Conference and therefore asked Ghanaians to seriously reflect on this and evaluate their ways of life and make amends.

The Reverend Father John Dwobeng Adusei, Parish Priest of Manso-Nkwanta Catholic Church, appealed to the youth to desist from bad habits like smoking and immoral practices to avoid contracting the deadly HIV/AIDS disease.

He asked them to be deeply involved in development projects of the church.
