Unite to overcome challenges in 2015 - Ghanaians told

The Right Reverend Francis Amenu, Moderator of the Evangelical Presbyterian (E.P) Church, has said 2015 would be full of “mountains and valleys” but expressed the hope that the grace of God would see the nation through.

At the Watch Night Service at the Ho-Kpodzi Cathedral, the moderator said, “There will be mountains of unemployment and family challenges, but if we trust and keep God’s command, we will overcome”.

Rt. Rev. Amenu, therefore, asked the citizenry to uphold integrity, self-control, love and forgiveness.

At the Lord’s Pentecostal Church, Ho, Apostle Godwin Kwasi Amedzro, Area Apostle, said Ghanaians must stand together during the tougher times with the rich sharing their wealth with the poor.

Rev. James Noble Tulasi, Head Pastor, Jubilee Christian Centre, emphasised the need for the citizenry to work hard to better the national economy.

He urged Christians to shun corrupt tendencies and help provide solutions to socio-economic challenges in their communities.

Mr Francis Ganyaglo, Deputy Volta Regional Minister, and some chiefs from the Asogli State, joined the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ho-Kpodzi for the Watch Night Service.

The E.P. Church used the occasion to inaugurate a new branch at Ho-Dome New Town.

Pubs and drinking bars were virtually empty throughout the watch-night.

As early as 1900 hours, churches began receiving people mostly dressed in white apparel.

Popular drinking bars like Mirage, struggled to keep a few customers after the watch night church services, which were climaxed with fireworks at midnight.
