The Church seeks the interest of Ghana- Rev Mills-Owoo

Takoradi, Nov. 14, GNA - Reverend (Dr) Isaac Mills-Owoo, Head of the South West Sector of the Ghana Baptist Convention, at the weekend observed that the Church cannot achieve its goals without capitalising on the enabling conditions in the country.

He said the word of God cannot thrive in an economy where the citizens are facing undue hardship.

Rev Mills-Owoo made the observation when he opened the second Pastors and Church Leaders' conference of the sector in Takoradi.

It was on the theme: "Church Growth and Development, Our Corporate Responsibility."

Rev Mills-Owoo said: "Our Lord did not only preach a message of salvation for the soul but provided for the material and emotional needs of the people and ensured that taxes and whatever was due to the government was faithfully paid."

He said the church needs to sustain the call on the government to en= act and implement policies that would improve the socio-economic conditions of the country.
