St Mary Seminary to get boreholes

Ho, May 15, GNA - Captain George Nfodjoh (Rtd), Member of Parliament for Ho Central on Saturday promised to liaise with some Christian non-governmental organisations to drill three boreholes for St Mary's Seminary Senior High School at Lolobi in the Volta Region. The move is aimed at saving students of the School the trouble of commuting daily to fetch water from River Dayi, leading to the loss of study hours and the contraction of water borne diseases. Capt Nfodjoh made the promise at the launch of the School's Golden Jubilee celebrations in Ho on Saturday on the theme: 9350 years of Catholic Education and Discipline: Implication for National Development."

He said: 93I am touched by the trouble students go through in search of water daily. I know you have huge infrastructure deficit too, but I promise to liaise with some Christian NGOs to get you two or three boreholes soon." Capt Nfodjoh also gave the School GH¢ 2,000 from the Member of Parliament share of the District Assemblies Common Fund. Dr Fritz Augustine Gockel, Senior Lecturer, University of Ghana who was the Guest Speaker advised the youth to develop interest in Information Communication and Technology (ICT) and use it to transform the country's economy.

He said ICT could help expand the country's economy and create jobs. Most Reverend Francis Anani Kofi Lodonu, Catholic Bishop of Ho commended the School for its achievements for the past 50 years and called on the Old Boys and other stakeholders to support the infrastructural development of the academic facility. 15 May 11
