Seventh Day Adventist ordains pastors in Accra

The Seventh Day Adventist has ordained 18 pastors from the Southern Ghana Conference and the Mid-South Ghana Conference with a call on them to teach about practical Christianity and the five pillars of the church’s faith.

The Southern Ghana Conference comprised pastors from the Greater Accra and the Volta Region while the Mid-South Ghana Conference involves pastors from the Ashanti and Central Region.

Pastor Dr Andrews L. Ewoo, International Evangelist, preaching on the theme: “Kingdom Consciousness: My Calling and Responsibility,” admonished the newly ordained pastors to be strong in the lord and serve the members with humility.

He urged them to always consult with Christ in anything they do because it is the source of their foundation to success and bestowed with the responsibility to teach members of the Church to live a holy life.

Dr Ewoo said to be ordained as a pastor does not give license to heaven but more importantly it is about the person’s personal life that is pleasing to God that would guarantee a place in the kingdom of God.

“Unlike other professions where they are mostly appointed or voted for, the work of a pastor is a chosen vessel of God Almighty anointed to represent the world and preach the gospel to the people and bring salvation to mankind,” he added.

He noted that a pastor’s call is voted by the trinity and that it is incumbent on them to be careful in their utterances and actions because of the respect they are accorded with as well as seen as the servant of God.

He urged the newly-ordained pastors to speak about Christ with passion and be abreast of the word of God to effect change in the lives of worshippers because they possesses the power of God.

Dr Ewoo advised them to live a life worth emulating due to the position they occupy and not indulge in activities that would tarnish the image of their personality and the Church.

“You are expected with the power of God to teach, act and serve in the vineyard of God, be ready to serve the members in the Church and not lord your authority on them because a true leader is the one who serves with humility.”

He urged them to be committed to the cause of God and distance themselves from the evil forces and fake pastors, for it is only when they involve Jesus in every activity they do that all other things would be successful for them.
