Service to Church is calling by God - Rt. Rev. Amenu

Ho, Sept 18, GNA - Right Reverend Francis Amenu, Moderator of General Assembly of the E.P. Church, has called on members of the Committees of the Church to consider their appointments as a calling to serve God in special ways. Rt. Rev. Amenu gave the exhortation at an inaugural meeting with members of 15 Committees of the Church, in Ho. He told members of the Committees that: "You are not chosen by men but by God," and urged them to serve society in humility as Jesus Christ demonstrated.

Rt. Rev. Amenu called on the Committees to work towards the revival and growth of the Church, something he said the General Assembly Standing Committee alone could not do. He expressed hope that the committees would be inspired to sow good seeds of service to the "Church of Jesus Christ." Mr S.A. Nibo, Acting National Treasurer of the Church, asked members of the committees to work assiduously towards the development of the Church.

Rev. Dr Cyril Fayorsey of the Strategic Planning Committee pledged the commitment of members of the various committees to executing their assignments effectively. Mr Kwasi Owusu-Yeboah of the Legal Committee advised the Church to avoid litigations.

He called for constant consultation between the Church leadership and the Legal Committee on all matters. Meanwhile the defunct Publishing Company of the Church is expected to resume work soon after several years of dormancy, Rt. Rev. Amenu told newsmen. 20 Sept 10.
