The Priests and Parishioners of Saint Catherine Catholic Church at Burma Camp have marked the 1st Family Sunday of the Parish on Sunday May 7, 2017.

The Family Sunday which was officially launched on April 30, 2017 during a Eucharistic celebration will be marked on first Sundays of every month.

Parish Priest, who is also a Commander of the Ghana Navy, Rev. Father Alex Anaman said, the Family Sunday was to offer Parishioners the opportunity to truly deepen their faith and commune as one people of God and also interact with each other, while helping “weak” parishioners spiritually, physically and financially.

The family Sunday was marked with breakfast for all Parishioners accompanied by interactions after the celebration of the Holy Mass.

Preaching on vocation, Fr. Anaman said, every vocation has its own difficulty be it the marriage or religious life.

He encouraged young men and women to pray for their particular vocation in life. They should also understand that marriage is a vocation and has its own challenges as Priesthood and religious life.

“Parents are shepherds of their families likewise the clergy are shepherds of God’s flock”, Fr. Anaman said.

He entreated Christians not to compromise on their faith for any position or situation and place their trust in God because true peace is found in Christ Jesus the chief Good Shepherd.
