Prof. Asuming-Brempong urges pastors to promote teamwork

Apostle Professor Samuel Asuming-Brempong, Chairman of the Great Commission Church International (GCCI- Ghana), has urged pastors to promote teamwork as disciples of the nations.

He said: “The Church is in God’s hands as a tool to reach the whole world with the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ through winning, churching and discipleship”.

Prof Asuming-Brempong made the appeal on Saturday in Accra during the church’s General Council Meeting on the theme: “Striving to Know God Better”.

The four-day council meeting, which started on Thursday, January 1, will end on Sunday, January 4, and is being attended by delegates from all over the country.

Prof. Asuming-Brempong said the work of the ministry was to diligently do what the Lord Jesus had called each and every Christian to do, adding; “this means to labour and work hard”.

He said: “Our attitude must change in the right direction. There is no room for laziness in the Lord’s vineyard”.

Prof. Asuming-Brempong called for unity and oneness of mind in the body of Christ towards the fulfillment of the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus Christ.

He said the GCCI had adopted a new approach to cell group system which would be leadership oriented, focusing on making disciples.

Prof Asuming-Brempong announced the formation of the Great Commission Associates, an interdenominational youth wing of GCCI, which would operate on similar lines as the Scripture Union.

He said the organisation would be established in educational and other institutions from the primary schools through to junior and senior high levels and the tertiary institutions.

He also mentioned the setting up of Labour Training Fund with an initial amount of Ghc30, 000 to support labour training and discipleship, as well as evangelism in the church.

Apostle J.F.K Mensah, GCCI Apostolic Council Chairman, advised pastors to take very seriously the issue of being the disciples of the nations for the Lord Jesus Christ.

He said the goal of spiritual growth in the Christian faith was to create Christ-like disciples, who would be willing to stand for God no matter the circumstance.

He said church leadership, at all levels, must portray a Godly character.
