Pentecost totally against same-sex marriage – Chairman

The Church of Pentecost The Church of Pentecost

The Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr. Opoku Onyinah, did not mince words when he stated the Church’s stance on same-sex marriage on Sunday 26th July, 2015, at the Santa-Maria Central Church in Accra.

The Chairman, who was speaking at the retirement service of Pastor David and Mrs. Faustina Adwoa Addo, emphatically stated that the Church does not approve of same-sex marriage, and would have no part in marriages between people of the same sex.

The Church’s position on this issue, according to him, is inspired by the Holy Scriptures, which only backs marriage between a man and a woman; and totally abhors homosexual acts.

He added that, in no way would the Church be cajoled or compelled into endorsing or having any part in same-sex marriages.

He also urged the Government of Ghana to take a firm stance against the wave of homosexuality that is sweeping across the globe,by not giving in to external demands, pressures and influences.

Apostle Dr. Opoku Onyinah also called on all Ghanaians, particularly the Christian fraternity, to openly voice out their disapproval of homosexual acts so that it is not accepted into the country, or incur the wrath of God.

“We should be ready to stand and protest against same-sex marriages, if necessary, to ensure that our leaders do not impose it on us,” he said.

Apostle Johnson Agyemang-Baduh, the Odorkor Area Head also added that it is important that people, including children, are educated and sensitized about dangers of homosexual acts so as to curb the threat that it poses on human race.

“We must not be uncomfortable to discuss it with our children. It is important that we help them understand and take a stance against homosexuality and same-sex marriages altogether,” he said.
