Pastors urged to let their conducts reflect the gospel

Ho, Aug 22, GNA – The Rev Heike Jakubeit, the President of the Bremen Mission in Germany, has appealed to pastors to strive to constantly reflect the gospel they preach to others.

“It is easier to tell stories about right behaviour, than to be able to do it on our own,” he said.

Rev Jakubeit said this in a sermon at the thanksgiving and ordination of 28 new pastors for the E. P. Church on Sunday.

It marked the end of the third General Assembly of the Church in Ho under the theme, “Integrity in Mission and Ministry.”

Rev Jakubeit urged pastors to be humble, avoid arrogance and be ready to listen to even the least among their congregations.

She said even Jesus Christ learnt from the woman of Tyre (Mark 7: 24 ff) that the love of God was not limited to any particular group of people.

“Jesus, our Lord and Master, also had to learn that nobody without God is unfailing.
