Pastor asks political parties to maintain peace and stability in Ghana

Accra, July 29, GNA- Brother Immanuel Enoch Agbozo, Leader of the Ghana Evangelical Society (GES), on Monday, called on the political parties, seeking the mandate of Ghanaians in the forthcoming Presidential and Parliamentary elections, to remain committed to the peace and security the country is enjoying.

He said neither the New Patriotic Party, National Democratic Congress nor any political party, brought about the peace the country was enjoying and must therefore ensure that they conducted their political activities in a manner that would not compromise the security and stability of the citizenry.

Bro. Agbozo was speaking at the annual God Kingdom Glory in Ghana Forum organised by the GES on the theme: "God and His Nation Ghana," in Accra. The two-day forum being attended by members of the clergy, Christians and a cross section of people would also discuss the topic: " The Role of the Church and People in the Establishment of the God Kingdom Glory Order in the land." Speaking on the topic: "The Spiritual and Biblical Foundation, The Nature and Structure of the God Kingdom Order on Earth," he said, the peace and prosperity Ghana was currently enjoying was an indication that the favour of the Lord was on the country. Bro. Agbozo noted that Ghana is now the favourite nation of the Lord, after Israel and Europe and so God would transform the country to represent the true reflection of Christianity and establish his Kingdom on Earth.

He stressed: "God has chosen Ghana as a model Christian Nation, made holy unto him through Christ Jesus. He chose Israel at a point and now He has chosen Ghana. It is not an empty claim but a positive one." Bro. Agbozo said all reality was under the authority of God and so the Most High would use the church in Ghana as a conduit point to fight anti-Christ elements in the world. "Ghana shall shine as a star Christian Nation. God would be their God and rule through their Government." He warned that God is about to remove all wicked people in authority, who are impeding the progress of the country. Bro. Agbozo asked Ghanaians to shun ancestral worship and worship the true God.

Rev. Dr. Oheneba Domyo, President of the International Theological Council asked Christians to play active roles in politics and all other decision making processes that affects governance. This he said would ensure the influence of Christianity in all aspects of national life. Rev. Dr. Domyo expressed worry that the church in Ghana is busy about religion rather than the Kingdom of God. The Rev. David Dadzie, Pastor in Charge of the Saviour Presbyterian Church, who chaired the function, observed that the theme for the occasion was an affirmation that Ghana is for God and therefore people in authority should be influenced by God in order to facilitate the development of the country.
