Over 800,000 people attend peace gospel crusade in Sunyani

Over 800,000 people have attended the 'Greater Peace Gospel Crusade' organized in Sunyani - the capital of the Brong-Ahafo Region.

The power-packed non-denominational crusade was put together by Christ for all Nations (CfaN), an international gospel evangelistic ministry, which has its Africa office in Ghana.

People from all walks of life and of different age groups, for four days running, gathered at the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) grounds to listen to inspirational and life changing messages from renowned Evangelist Daniel Kolenda.

They came not only from Sunyani and its environs but from places like Bechem, Techimantia, Dwomo, Duayaw-Nkwanta , Yamfo, Tanoso, Susanso, Chiraa, Odumase and Nsoatre.

About 1,000 security personnel drawn the police, military, fire and immigration service were on hand to make sure that everything went well.

The Reverend Dr. Victor Leonard Amengor, the Sunyani Centre Administrator of Faith University Seminary, Ghana, and the Chairman of the media sub-committee, hailed the crusade as a huge success.

He told that the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that 'over 18,000 new souls were converted'.

The central theme of Evangelist Kolenda's message throughout the programme was the need for all, to consciously work on their salvation by doing what was right and stepping back from anything evil and poisonous to the health of the society.

He encouraged Christians to develop an intimate personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Evangelist Kolenda earlier paid separate courtesy calls on Mr. Eric Opoku, the Regional Minister and Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri II, the Paramount chief of Sunyani.

Nana Nkrawiri labeled the crusade as 'the seal to the peace, security and calmness I am always crying for'.

He expressed the hope that it was going to unite the people not only in the Sunyani municipality but the entire region.
