National Hajj Committee to interview nurses

The National Hajj Committee (NHC) would on Saturday August 30 2014 conduct interviews for nurses who intend to serve on its medical team for the 2014 pilgrimage.

The interview would be made-up of a five-member panel of doctors and officials of the Hajj Committee whose names are yet to be announced.

This is the second time the Hajj Committee is organising interviews for the medical staff who intend to serve on the Hajj medical team since Alhaji Ibrahim Abdul Rauf Tanko took charge of the affairs of the committee.

The basic requirements for the applicants are that they should be registered medical professionals with at least five years or more experience, while they should be within the ages of 27 to 45 years.

Speaking to Ghana News Agency in Accra, Alhaji Tanko said the interview is the right channel to select members of the medical team in order to ensure quality of health delivery to the pilgrims in Ghana and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He said the applicant nurses would be questioned on general, community, eye and psychiatric health and general knowledge.

Alhaji Tanko said the panel members would also inspect the originality of the certificates of all applicants presented to ensure that photo images on their certificates are truly certified.

He said the preferred drugs to be sent to Saudi Arabia, would be examined by the Narcotics Control Board and the Food and Drugs Authority and Saudi Arabia for approval.
