Delegates at the Ellembele constituency in the Western Region have begun voting after hours of delay.

Elections stalled with no headway, Saturday morning, leaving delegates stranded at the grounds. Confusion erupted resultantly, as delegates tried to ascertain reasons for the development.

The root cause of the disruption still remains unknown as all attempts to speak polling executives on the issue proved futile.

Armed police personnel arrived on time to prevent a near-chaotic situation at the polling station, the incident which took place at Ekruful Agricultural Senior High School Park saw a late start of the polls.

Unlike other constituencies where voting began at 9am and ended at 3pm, voting began not long ago in Ellembelle.

Meanwhile, a total of 672 delegates were expected to vote today, they were left disappointed at the turn of events. The police are still on the ground to prevent any unforeseen situation.

The three aspirants contesting for the seat are; Ellembelle DCE, Kwasi Bonzoh, Western Regional Treasurer of the party, Anna Akaisi Horma Miezah and Isaac Menlah.
