Muslims urged to renew their faith in Allah

Muslims in the Upper East Region on Thursday joined others across the world to hold open air prayers to mark this year’s Eid-Ul-Adha festival to commemorate the sacrifice Prophet Ibrahim made to Allah as well as his submission.

At the NAFAC ground inside the Bolgatanga Craft Village, hundreds of Muslims under the leadership of the Upper East Regional Chief Imam, Alhaji Yussif Adam, prayed to Allah for peace and progress in the Bolgatanga municipality and the region as a whole.

It is said that Prophet Ibrahim was an obedient servant to Allah who was willing to fulfill the demand of Allah to sacrifice his only son; and for that show of commitment to Allah, a ram was provided for the sacrifice and Prophet Ibrahim was abundantly blessed.

Alhaji Yusif Adam advised Muslims to renew their faith in Allah and show love and compassion to their neighbours at all times so as to attract the blessings of Allah.

He entreated Muslims to be law abiding and train their children in the ways of Allah to make them responsible citizens in future.

Deputy Upper East Regional Minister, Daniel Syme, implored Muslims to be at peace with their fellow Muslims and people of other faith to maintain the religious tolerance that exist in the region and the rest of the country.

Journalists who observed the Eid-Ul-Adha prayers with the NDC General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, were ignored by him when they attempted to interview him after the prayer session.

He jumped into his air-conditioned vehicle and later decided to talk to the journalists through the window.

His attitude towards the journalists left some worshipers wondering why they (journalists) still stood to listen to his propaganda message to Ghanaians.
