Alhaji Khuzaima Osman, Executive Secretary of Islamic Peace and Security Council of Ghana, has urged Muslim youth to strive to choose good role models.

He said choosing the right role models within or outside their community would help them to progress in their various endeavours.

Alhaji Khuzaima said this when he interacted with the youth of New Fadama, a suburb of Accra, in commemoration of the International Youth Day.

He visited three base camps of the youth in the New Fadama area, namely Youth with Vision, Atanfo Nye Nyame andFadama youth disciplinary base, and interacted with them to know some of their challenges and how it could be solved.

During the interaction the youth were of the opinion that community elders, chiefs and decision makers should take cognizance of their importance and the critical roles they play in the communities and the nation at large.

They also urged the wealthy individuals in the Zongo communities to support needy children by financing their education and assist the elderly to get access to the National Health Insurance card and providing financial support to women, especially traders.

The youth were however unhappy about the attitude of some parents who hardly allow their children to have Islamic studies, leading to the breakdown of moral education among them.

They commended the National Chief Imam for providing scholarships to some Muslim students to acquire higher education and urged him to continue such good gestures.

Alhaji Khuzaima who is also the Special Assistance to the National Chief Imam promised to channel the grievances to the appropriate authorities for redress.

He advised them to take their education serious as it is the key to development.
