Methodist men urged to maintain image of fellowship

Mr George Omane, the Immediate past National Chairman of the Association of the Methodist Men’s Fellowship, has urged members to adhere strictly to the core business of witnessing for Christ to attract more people into their fold.

Mr Omane was speaking the inauguration and induction service for Atwima-Manhyia Wesley Branch of the fellowship within the Abuakwa-Asenemaso Circuit of the Kumasi Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana.

The immediate past National Chairman admonished the fellowship to mobilize the men of the Church to fellowship with one another and help alleviate hardship in times of need.

He called on the newly inducted executives to offer effective leadership and cooperate with other organisations in the church and take active part in all church programmes.

Mr Edward Asante-Nketia, Kumasi Diocesan Chairman of the Fellowship, said the branch was the105th to be inaugurated in the Diocese and urged the members to live by the noble ideals of the fellowship.

He also advised them to join the group insurance policy of the Diocese to enjoy the benefits it offered the members.

Mr Asante- Nketia said the Diocese had reached an advanced stage in its efforts to construct a 100- bed capacity hostel to assist in its revenue generation activities.

The Very Reverend Samuel Budu –Arthur, the Minister in charge of Atwima-Manhyia Wesley Methodist Church, who preached on “The role of men in the church and society”, said the overseers must be above reproach, be self-controlled and help to manage the affairs of the church.

He urged the members to get deeply involved in the programmes of the church to encourage the youth to emulate such qualities.

An appeal for funds yielded GH¢ 5,066.00.
