Methodist Church calls for ethnic tolerance

Tema, May 7, GNA - The Most Reverend Professor Emmanuel Asante, Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church, has

observed that the unity and diversity of the Church calls for tolerance among members to accept and entertain the

differences of life. These differences, he said, include ethnicity, gender, culture, mannerism, the weaknesses of life and diverse levels of

education and styles of leadership. Most Rev. Asante made the observation in his message to the 2010 Synod of the Methodist Church in Tema. The 13th synod of the church is on the theme: "I will give you everywhere you set your foot. More land to be

possessed." He asked the congregation to do due diligence about people they invite to the programmes of the church to prevent

them from using "our hard won brand name- the Methodist Church to do their own thing". Most Rev. Asante urged the various societies of the church to contribute generously towards the completion of the

mission's charitable project dubbed: "The Methodist-Rafiki Satellite Village," situated at Gyaahadze in the Winneba

Diocese of the Central Region.
