The Superintendent Minister of the Sunyani Circuit of the Methodist Church Ghana, the Very Rev. Daniel Kwasi Tannor says afflictions, troubles, life-threatening challenges and the difficulties people go through in life are not necessarily from Satan but from God.

According to him God intentionally sanctions such challenges and allow them to befall his own children for various reasons. It is therefore wrong for Christians to attribute all their problems to the devil.

Rev Tannor was speaking at the thanksgiving service at the Calvary Methodist Church at Estate, a suburb of Sunyani in honour of Rev David Boakye, who was recently ordained as a Minister of the Methodist Church.

Rev David Boakye, who is also a tutor of the Sunyani Senior High School, was ordained as a Minister alongside several others in August this year at the Wesley Cathedral at Koforidua in the Eastern Region.

Delivering the sermon under the theme “The Call of God”, Very Rev Kwasi Tannor said God has his own reasons for allowing his children to go through difficulties but would always come to their rescue eventually.

Rev Tannor, who is also the Sunyani Diocesan Synod Secretary of the church, admonished the newly ordained minister to consider his work as a Call by God and be guided by the word of God at all times.

He said whoever is called and sent by God to deliver his message must seek wisdom from God to be able to properly deliver the message.

According to him, God usually calls the weak and the less respected in society and then strengthens and empowers them to do great things.
