The Member of Parliament for Manhyia- North, Hon Collins Owusu Amankwah has pleaded with Muslims to peacefully co-exist with people belonging to other faiths in the constituency.

This, he noted is the only way the peace and stability can be maintained in the Moshie Zongo Community.

Addressing Muslim chiefs at separate functions in Moshie Zongo, a suburb in the Manhyia North constituency when he presented bags of sugar, rice, drums of cooking and unspecified amounts of money to about 20 mosques the youthful MP urged Muslims to abide by the tenets of the Koran and strive to maintain peace in their localities.

He stressed that meaningful development could only take place in the community when Muslims, as well as Christians, decide to tolerate each other.

”It is important that as a people with a common destiny we strive at all times to maintain the peace we have by embracing all manner of people despite their backgrounds, religious or ethnic leanings”, Hon Amankwah admonished.

Speaking about the donation, Hon Amankwah said as the MP for the area he is required to support all faith-based organisations and provide assistance to them anytime the need arose.

He noted the holy month of Ramadan was a sacred one for Muslims as they converge and pray for the peace and prosperity of the country.

This sacrifice by Muslims, he opined therefore required of him to assist them with the needed incentive so as to urge them to continue to pray for the people of Ghana especially residents of Manhyia North.

Hon Amankwah said the continuous gesture by his outfit every year was to show the appreciation of his people to Muslims in the constituency.

He noted that the MP has consistently given to support them anytime they call for help.

However, Sheikh Sani asked that the school block housing the Alssuna Primary and Junior High School be completed for them.

Currently, he said the classrooms are congested while they have more spaces at the uncompleted structure at the school.

In response to the appeal made by the MP, the Muslim cleric promised to ensure that members of the Islamic faith live at peace with all men in the Manhyia North constituency.

”As a community, there is so much support we need in terms of infrastructural development and the only way our MP can continue to lobby for more projects for us is to ensure we make this Moshie Zongo Community peaceful at all times”, Sheilk Sani stressed passionately.
