Koforidua Diocesan Choir holds 10th biennial conference

Choir ministries within the Koforidua Diocese of the Anglican Church of Ghana converged at Nuaso in the Odumase Archdeaconry to hold their 10th Biennial Conference under the theme “‘O’ Sing unto the Lord a new song, for he hath done marvelous things”, Ps. 98:1 from 24th to 26th August, 2018.

At the official opening on Saturday, August 25, 2018, Rev. Canon Asiamah opened the ceremony by urging all present to seek first the kingdom of God in line with the theme.

In his remarks as Chairperson, Dr Enock Teye-Kwadjo expressed gratitude to be present at the august occasion.

The Chairman of the diocesan choir stated that despite the challenges they have encountered, a number of achievements have been chalked, paramount of them is the first time live recording of last year's night of carols and lessons. He, however, bemoaned challenges such as inadequacy of funds and choirmasters.

The official opening which was colourfully attended had the Lord Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese being the Guest of honour.

In his address, he admonished the choristers to be leaders and set good example at all times. He further announced some scholarship opportunities for qualified students to study law and agricultural science.

The bishop also announced that his administration intends to undertake projects such as mineral water production, intensive agricultural works and an establishment of a school complex.

He urged all choristers to eschew immorality, pessimism and negativity but rather join hands with everyone in building the church.

The guest speaker, Evangelist in his address urged the choristers to be born again, to be holy and must be God-centered.

The official opening was chaired by Dr Enock Teye-Kwadjo and co-chaired by Mad. Sara Afedo. Other dignitaries present were Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo (Deputy Minister of Gender), Hon. Simon Tetteh (Municipal Chief Executive)
