Best Way Of Winning Souls – Man Of God
The Rt. Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Komla Gbordzoe, Moderator of the Global Evangelical Church, has stated that the best way of evangelism, is to move from house-to-house to spread the gospel.
According the Moderator, the house-to-house approach to evangelism allows for evangelists to meet the people in their natural habitats and allows for the people to, in a very comfortable environment, accept the word of God.
“Let us take the word to the people in their homes and work places and let them know that we care about them and that we don’t only wait for them to come to church before we minister to them. By going to them, they will know that we really care and accept our message” the moderator said.
The Rt. Rev Dr. Gbordzoe spoke about the house-to-house evangelism at the Induction Service of the Synod Committee Executive of the Global Evangelical Church at the Jubilee Park, Ho, on Sunday, January 06, 2008, at a well attended and colourful ceremony.
The Special Guest of Honour, was John Evans Atta Mills, NDC Leader and Presidential Candidate.
In his keynote address, the NDC leader asked the church to continue to pray for the country and to pray for Religious and Morale Education to be reintroduced on the curriculum of Basic Schools.
According to the learned professor, himself a staunch Methodist, any society that does not have a moral foundation is a society that will not stand the test of time.
“Religion and morality must be an integral part of the nation’s foundation and I beg of you the men of God to make your voice heard on the issues of religion and morality” the learned professor said.
“If we will not bequeath to the youth anything, let us at least teach them what is pure and true” the NDC Leader added.
Touching on the elections, the NDC Leader asked the church to pray ceaselessly so that after the election, Ghana will continue to remain a peaceful and united nation with a common sense of purpose that will unite rather than divide us.
It would be recalled that Prof Mills introduced the house-to-house style of campaigning into Ghana politics about 10 months ago with his one-on-one approach to sending his message to the people in their communities really endearing him to the electorate.
With men of God also accepting the house-to-house approach as the best way to reach the hearts and minds of the people, it is quite clear that Prof Mills’ style is divinely inspired.
The Synod, which was serving its second term under the leadership of Rt. Rev. Dr. Gbordzoe, was sworn-in by Commander Gbewornyo, the first Moderator of the Church.
The six-member Executive Committee is made up of the Moderator as the Chairman, Rev. Prince Tefe as the Synod Clerk, Rev. S.D.K Dumevi as the Programmes and Inter Church Relations Secretary, Mr. Kojo Mattah, Treasurer, Mr. Edward Agozie, Male Presbyter and Mrs. Enyonam Keteku, Female Presbyter.
