Hajj pilgrims grateful to Zoomlion

The smooth facilitation of movement of Hajj pilgrims from Ghana to Mecca by Zoomlion Ghana Limited has been acknowledged by the Muslim community, with the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, heaping praises on the waste management giant for their support.

In 2007, Zoomlion Ghana Limited developed an innovative support to provide better accommodation and other facilities for the Hajj pilgrims.

This intervention, according to the National Chief Imam, “averted the situation where pilgrims sleep in the open and took their bath at the airport, in their quest to visit Mecca.”

He made this observation through one of his advisors, when a four-member delegation from his outfit, led by the Chairman of the Advisory Board, Sheikh Shaibu Abubakar, visited the offices of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Tuesday, to acquaint themselves with their operations.

The head of the Muslim community also took turns to commend Zoomlion Ghana Limited for taking a stance and instituting innovative ways to clean the country, and others in the African continent of filth.

“The Quran is very exclusive about managing our waste and sanitation in general. I call on all Muslims to abide by the Quran and keep their communities clean at all times,” he noted.

He again lauded them for taking steps to further deepen their footprints in the country by establishing a waste and sanitation institute to train the public on good sanitary practices.

That notwithstanding, the Chief Imam applauded the waste management giant for the numerous job opportunities it has created for the teeming youth in the country, especially, those in the Zongo communities.

Commenting on their operations, Acting Manager of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Emmanuel Okomeng, said his outfit would rapidly develop new ideas and always look for new methods to aid in catering for the sanitation demands and needs of the country.

“We are progressing with our clean, green and healthy environment agenda, and we look forward to furthering this relationship towards bridging more gaps, educating more people from diverse communities and backgrounds on good sanitary habits,” he noted.
