Global Evangelical Church ordains Pastors

Accra, July 21, GNA-The Rt. Reverend Dr Emmanuel Komla Gbordzoe, Moderator of the Global Evangelical Church, has called on politicians, the clergy and opinion leaders to let their utterances promote peace and national unity and reduce tension in the run-up to the general elections in December.

He said as the nation entered another era in her democratic development, there was the need for Ghanaians to be united to ensure that the peace process succeeded.

Rt. Rev. Gbordzoe was speaking at the induction service for pastors of the Church at the Kotobabi branch in Accra on Sunday. He asked Ghanaians to pray for God's guidance in selecting capable leaders who have the development of the nation at heart. The Moderator asked the electorate to reject any politician who mounted the platform and rain insults on others explaining that, such attitude would rather plunge the country into disrepute. He advised the youth to refrain from acts which would hinder national development. Rev. Prince Tefe, the Synod Clerk, charged the ordained pastors to use the pulpit as a tool for the promotion of peace and national development He also advised political parties to exhibit a high level of tolerance before, during and after the elections.
