Global Evangelical Church elects New Moderator

Accra, Aug. 7, GNA - The Global Evangelical Church has elected Rever= end Dr. Edem Kwaku Tettey as the new Moderator of the church for the next four years. The new Moderator a 59-year-old lecturer at the Department of Publishin= g Studies, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), will assume leadership of the church in January next year.

He replaces the current Moderator, Right Rev. Dr Emmanuel Gbordzoe, wh= o will end his two-term of eight years in December this year. Rev. Dr Tettey holds a Phd in Christian Education from Newburgh Theological Seminary and Masters Degree in Educational Administration from the Oral Roberts University both in the United States.

The new Moderator, who also holds a Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design and Post-Graduate Diploma in Economics and Industrial Management both from the KNUST, Post-Graduate Diploma in Printing and Publishing Studies from th= e London College of Printing, was a former student of Mawuli School, Ho. Speaking to journalists on his plans as a Moderator, Rev. Dr Tettey said he would ensure that the gospel was propagated to all corners of the country in line with the great commission of Christ.

He said his administration would continue with the evangelism agenda o= f the church by extending missionary activities to new areas in the country and Africa. Rev. Dr said his administration would also focus on the moral upbringing of children to complement the efforts of parents and teachers to stem the moral decadence.
