Ghanaians asked to be wary of false pastors

Koforidua, Aug 23, GNA - Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Kwabena Gyamera-Yeboah, Eastern Regional Police Commander, has warned Ghanaians, particularly women, against fake pastors, who claim they have answers to all human problems. The Regional Police Commander stressed that women should be careful in their dealings with such pastors, who maintain that they were powerful.

ACP Gyamera-Yeboah in an interview with GNA in Koforidua said that there were rampant cases of people who had fallen prey to the charms and lies of fake pastors in the Region. He cited that a pastor allegedly lured a married woman to a hotel and sexually abused her, and another pastor supposedly raped five sisters all in the Region.

ACP Gyamera-Yeboah expressed worry that despite this unfortunate situation, some people, especially women, continued to flock to prayer camps and churches to seek solutions to their problems. He said that even though the police would continue to protect the rights and dignity of citizens, there was the need for Ghanaians to be cautious of fake pastors. 23 Aug. 11
