The Evangelical Presbyterian Church – Tamale Prayed For Peace In Ghana.

The Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana at Kukuo in the Tamale metropolis made a one week intensive prayer to God for peace in the country. The church led by the District Pastor – Rev. S. K. Matti, and some other leaders of the church, including the church’s Catechist Gershon Breni, devoted part of their week long evening services to pray fervently for God’s intervention to let the peace being enjoyed in the country to continue even through this trying periods as we all await the supreme court’s verdict on the 2012 presidential election petition. This is also in line with the E.P. Church’s General Assembly theme; “God of Life Lead Us to Justice, Peace and Dignity for Growth and Development”

The week long evening programs were parts of activities drawn out to mark the 2013 YOUTH WEEK CELEBRATION of the E.P. Church. The evening lecture series saw resource persons like the Chief Executive of Picorna Hotel-Presbyter Mrs. Wilhemina Aklaku, the Vice Rector (Non-Tertiary) of the Tamale Polytechnic and also a presbyter of the church – Presbyter Anthony Atsu and the administrator of SARI – Nyakpala - Rev. G.Y. Nachim, among the rest. They treated wide range of topics which were very related and important to the growth and development of the youth and the church as a whole.

The youth also made a donation of number of items to the Nyoahini Children’s Home, also in the Tamale metropolis. This was preceded by fun games dubbed “Peace and Unity Games”. The games saw the participation of youth groups from the Kukuo branch of the Presbyterian Church and the St. Charles Minor Seminary Senior High School.
