Ejisu Poised for Historic Easter Convention:

Nana Aboagye-Agyei II, the Paramount Chief of Ejisu Traditional Council, Nana Yaa Asentewaah II, Ejisuhemaa, Honorable Akwasi Osei Agyei, MP, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, , Honorable Yaw Ahenkora Afrifa, DCE of Ejisu-Juaben Municipal Assembly, Ejisu Assembly members, businesses, and all citizens of Ejisu in collaboration with Ejisu Development Association (EDA) are readying for the 2008 Ejisu Easter Convention to be celebrated in Ejisu, Ghana from March 15 to March 23, with the grand durbar on March 22.

The theme of the 2008 Easter Convention is "UNITY AND PROSPERITY". The goal of the convention is to put the past behind and work towards one people to speed up development to make Ejisu a model municipal capital.

The event will start with an all denominational unity church service with a jingle, and a community rally. Other planned activities include communal labor to beautify the town and plant trees; Junior Secondary School quiz contest, and soccer tournament.

Dignitaries expected to be represented include Asantehene, Ejisu Traditional Council, members of Ghana Government, Ejisu Business community, professionals, Ejisu citizens throughout Ghana and in Diaspora.

It has been several years since Ejisu celebrated an Easter Convention. The purpose of the 2008 Easter Convention is to:

1. Unite the people of Ejisu including the leadership

2. Raise money to equip the Ejisu Hospital, improve water supply and sanitation in the town.

EDA is the main sponsor of the Easter Convention. EDA is a non-profit organization formed a year ago by well wishers of Ejisu in Diaspora. The purpose of EDA is to champion charitable, educational and developmental projects to benefit the town of Ejisu. It is EDA's mission to make Ejisu a district capital with vibrant economy, livable communities and safe neighborhoods, with sustainable and clean environment. Some of EDA's goals and objectives are to communicate new ideas and plans for Ejisu, facilitate the planning and development of Ejisu by networking worldwide. EDA has membership in USA, Canada, United Kingdom, the European Union, and Ghana.
