Create more platforms for youth interaction - Priest

Dzodze, (V/R), Sept. 13, GNA - Reverend Emmanuel Tibu, Southern Volta Presbytery Chairman of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, has called for the creation of more platforms for youth interaction nationally and internationally.

He said interactions of youths with different backgrounds and tribes would erase wrong perceptions people carried about one another, thereby fostering unity among the people. Rev Tibu was delivering a sermon to close a Youth Week at the Dzodze EP Church, attended by youth groups from some sister churches in Togo.

He commended the Dzodze EP Church Youth Group for initiating the programme which would prepare them for adult life. Speaking on the theme; "Striving for Newness in Christ - A Challenge for All," Rev. Tibu called for the building of more cooperation among various religious groups to propagate the gospel. He advised the youth of Dzodze to reciprocate the visit of their Togolese counterparts to enable them to learn and experience life in that country.

Rev. Tibu observed that the 'Last Supper' between Christ and his Apostles was a covenant between man and God, which enjoined man to show love to his neighbour. He advised them to avoid hatred, seek unity and abide by the edicts of the Bible.

Cleanup exercises, quizzes and a visit to tourist centres in the Keta Municipality were some of the activities the youth undertook during the seven-day meeting. 13 Sept. 09
