Churches organize harvests

Akim Asamama (E/R), Jan. 17, GNA-The Akim Asamama branch of the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church had realized GH¢ 2,500 at a harvest towards the completion of the church building started four years ago. Opanin Stephen Sintim Gyimah, an elder of the church told the GNA that the money would go towards roofing, cementing and painting of the building.

He said church members were also contributing GH¢ 10 per member towards the early completion of the project. The project Officer of the Church, Mr. Yaw Kwaning, said the construction of a three-unit block for the kindergarten and provision of furniture would be their next priority. In another development, the SDA Church at Akim Nsuapemso near Akim Osino in the Fanteakwa District, realized GH¢ 400.00 towards the rehabilitation of their church building. At Akim Osino, the Church of Pentecost also realized GH¢ 1,500.00 towards the completion of their new church building Madam Joyce Ankomah, the Church Mother, told the GNA that the present building could no longer accommodate the increasing number of church members.

In another development the Anglican Church at Osino realized GH¢ 1,500.00 towards the construction of a three-unit classroom block for their kindergarten. The senior presbyter, Mr. Jonas Ampaw, said the provision of the kindergarten was in line with the New Educational Reforms Programme.
