Church holds Easter Convention

Accra, April 09, GNA-- Apostle Michael Nimo, Chairman of the Christ Apostolic Church International, on Easter Sunday said Christians and the Church as a whole should be the answer to the numerous problems facing the country.

"The world waits on you to deliver them from its suffering", he told the worshippers.

Apostle Nimo was delivering a sermon at this year's Easter Convention of the Christ Apostolic Church of Accra West Territory on the theme: "The Day of His Power".

He said Christians have the power to change situations where there is suffering if they seek the Lord to intercede on their behalf. The Church, he said, was the power of the Lord and its existence was to deliver and to safeguard the world, adding; "Until the church finds its rightful position, the Lord is not coming."

He said, it was proper for the power of the Lord to be manifested as the Church was not established on just word but in power. Apostle Nimo said Christians and the church should prepare for the fore and latter rains and then the power of the Lord would be manifested.

He said Easter was a symbol of the death and resurrection of Christ and the time for claim and reclaim of all that mankind lost and to make new strides in life and that Ghanaians not to depend on politicians to deliver the country from its woes but to rather call on the Lord for their source of power.

The Revevend Samuel Addai-Kusi, Director Human Resources of the Church said the country was praying for a miracle to happen in relation to the energy crisis but, "the Lord had already given us a miracle by providing the sun 24 hours and seven days a week"

He said it was left to us to take the mantle and change the face of poverty to richness.

Rev Addai-Kusi noted that it was also prudent for the government to invest in other sources of energy such as the wind as alternative for hydro-thermal plants.

"With the resurrection of Christ every thing that we, as a country have lost should be reclaimed" he added.
