Christians should use social media - SU

Nana Kofi Adjei Imbeah, Western Regional Chairman of the Scripture Union (SU)-Ghana, at the weekend urged Christians to use the social media in evangelism, in order to win more souls for Christ.

He said in this technological era, Christians should be abreast of the new trend of communication such as facebook, twitter and other social media to preach the word of God.

Nana Imbeah made the suggestion at the first Regional SU Retreat at the Calvary Methodist Church in Takoradi, organised by the regional SU executives.

The retreat discussed new strategic plan to govern the regional Scripture Union and plan the way forward.

Nana Imbeah, who is also the Education Director for the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis, observed that the youth of today are being led astray by the social media, therefore, there is the need for the Church to take advantage of the platform to win souls.

The Superintendent Minister of Bethel Methodist Church, Very Reverend Emmanuel Aryee, advised the new SU leadership to work diligently to advance the cause of the heavenly mission.

He said, as leaders of a Christian organisation, they should be servants in God’s vineyard and not to lord over their members.

The newly inducted Executive Committee of the union includes, Nana Imbeah, Chairman, Mrs Rose Nyarko, Vice-Chairman, Rev Adu Boahen, Secretary, Mrs Gloria Blay, Treasurer and Mr Emmanuel Mensah, Area Programme Officer.

They would serve three years in office.
