Christians in Oguaa hold services to mark crucifixion of Christ

Cape Coast, March 21, GNA- Some churches in the Cape Coast township held services on Friday to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. At the Light House Chapel International, which was filled to capacity, the Reverend Ken Addy, a visiting pastor, told the congregation that Jesus died on the cross to cleanse mankind of their sins.

He tasked all Ghanaians to endeavour to use the occasion to turn over "a new leaf, and start a fresh life, devoid of lies, deceit, cheating, stealing, and back biting". He also urged the congregation to give thanks to God for "all the favours he had bestowed on the country", and called on leaders of the political parties, to avoid personal attacks on their opponents. Rev. Addy said Ghanaians should resolve to maintain the relative peace that the nation was enjoying during the December elections. He stressed the need for Christians in particular, to stay focused on God, to ensure the fulfillment of their aspirations, adding that "we are supposed to walk in the footsteps of the lord and learn to forgive our brothers whenever they wrong us". Prayers were said for a peaceful general election.
