Christian leadership conference opens at Fafraha

Fafraha (GAR), Feb. 25, GNA - A three-day leadership training conference, organized by the Rehoboth Assemblies of God Church and the Hard Core Christianity Ministry, US, was opened at Fafraha near Adenta in Greater Accra Region on Thursday.

The conference is aimed at building the spiritual and physical capacity of Christians to enable them face challenges and to give them the opportunity to pray for peace and unity for the country. Evangelist Michael Smith, in-Charge of the Christian Ministry, called on Christians to refrain from acts that hinder national transformation. He advised them to ensure that the teachings of Jesus Christ reflected in their daily lives saying "as real Christians you have to explain the crucifixion of Jesus Christ instead of creating the impression that his death was meaningless."

Evangelist Smith said the socio-economic woes of the country were partly due to Christians' rush for monetary gains instead of seeking their spiritual well-being.

He charged religious leaders to lead upright lifestyles and support the under-privileged in society. Reverend Gideon Armah, Head Pastor of the Rehoboth Assemblies of God Church, advised leaders to serve as mentors. He asked the youth to abstain from social vices, embrace the word of God and work hard to enable them to realize their dreams.
