Chief Imam donates books to Islamic University

Accra, June 19, GNA - The Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharabutu Educational Trust Fund (SONSET FUND) on Friday donated accounting, management and marketing text books, worth 10,000 pounds to the Islamic University in Accra to improve teaching and learning.

Sheikh Sharubutu who was present at the ceremony said the books would help to improve the quality of education in Ghana. He said the aim of the trust fund was to provide quality education in Muslim communities in Ghana.

Alhaji Ali Seidu Pelpuo, Vice President, Academic Affairs of Islamic University, said the books would improve the knowledge of the students.

He said the books would benefit the next generation of students of the University and asked for spiritual backing from the Chief Imam. Sheikh Seekaway Zakaria, member of the Board of Directors of the Fund, said there would a series of donations to help deprived communities improve the quality of education. The donation was facilitated by benefactors from Muslim communities in London, London School of Management and Accountancy and Muslim students in London.

SONSET FUND helps in raising education standards and provides free consultancies to students, entrepreneurs, activists and unemployed youth in the country.
