Charismatic bishops pledge peaceceful coexistence with other faiths.

Story By Osbert Lartey.

Members of the National Association of Charismatic and Christian Churches [NACCC] and the Action Chapel International College of Bishops have expressed strong commitment to engage members of other religious organizations in the country in an atmosphere of peace respect and trust for one another.

In a joint statement signed by Bishop Gideon Titi-Ofei , General Secretary of NACCC, and Bishop James Kweku Saah, Chairman of Action Chapel International College of Bishops, the Bishops asked the general public to ignore any attempt by any group of persons who wish to undermine the long and peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths in the country.
The Bishops expressed dismay that a carefully edited version of a video recording between leading figures of the association and their Moslem counterparts has been put on social media in an attempt to misinterpret the genuine import attached to the meeting.
The Bishops are of the view those who may not have the understanding and counsel behind the meeting had created the impression that the convener of the meeting ,Archbishop Duncan-Williams who was at the meeting and offered an apology has succumbed to pressure to deny his faith.
The Bishops threw their support for the amicable resolution of what was likely to undermine the cordial relationship between the Charismatic Ministry and other faiths in the country and paid glowing tribute to the pioneering role Arcbishop Duncan Williams had played in the growth of Charismatic Churches in the country.
The Bishops contended that those behind the distortions either did not get the full video and therefore were misled into drawing such conclusions or deliberately distorted its contents for their own parochial interest.
