Catholic Bishop asks Christians to pray for peaceful election

Nsein (W/R), Aug. 17, GNA - The Catholic Bishop for the Sekondi-Takoradi Diocese, Most Rev. Martin Darko, has appealed to Christians to pray for a good leader during the December election.

He said this when opening a four-day congress of Western Region Diocesan Charismatic Renewal Congress at Nsein. About 1500 people from 40 towns in the diocese are attending the congress under the theme "watch and pray".

Most Rev. Darko told Christians that unless the nation put God first, it would not see economic advancement and advised the electorate not use violence and abusive language during the electioneering campaign.

The Provincial Co-ordinator of the Sekondi-Takoradi Charismatic Renewal, Mr. Tony Sarpey, appealed to Christian women to go into evangelization because women had the gift of winning souls for the Lord.
