As part of activities marking the 125th anniversary of the Catholic mission in Accra, the various deaneries in the Archdiocese, namely Osu, Madina, Kaneshie Deanery, Mamprobi and Kpehe deaneries have held a health walk, blood donation and blood screening exercises across the national capital.

Participants from the Osu deanery converged at the St. Thomas Aquinas SHS and proceeded with a walk amidst brass band music through some principal streets of Cantonment. They later reconverged for aerobics and blood screening.

Speaking in an interview, Dean of the Osu Deanery, Very Rev. Fr. David Amissah Arko said it was important that as the church care for the spiritual needs of her people, their health concerns are also taken serious.

He added that the exercise also makes room for the various churches in the deanery to come together as a family to socialise even as they try to work of their fitness.

He encouraged churches and individuals to embark on such exercises frequently.

The Vicar General of the Accra Archdiocese, Very Rev. Fr. Francis Adoboli reiterated the need of being health conscious with the adage "a sound mind lives in a healthy body adage".

The 125th anniversary of the Catholic mission in Accra which is on the theme: “125 years of Catholic Mission in Accra: Renewing our commitment to evangelisation”, would be climaxed with a Holy Mass at the Black Stars Square on Sunday, November 25, 2018.
