Bible in Sisaala language

The first copy of the Bible and revised New Testament in the Sisaala language was presented to Margit and Justin Frimpong on 8th March in Biel, Switzerland. Midi Bible has been a longstanding sponsor of the translation. In Ghana, the translation was done under the auspices of the Ghana Institute of Linguistics, Literacy and Bible Translation, GILLBT (www.GILLBT.org). The rest of the Bibles and New Testaments are being shipped to to Ghana. A dedication is scheduled for 28th June 2014 in Tumu.

GILLBT has translated the New Testament into more than 25 languages in Ghana. Sissala is the sixth Ghanaian language to receive the whole Bible thanks to the translation efforts and training of GILLBT. The others are Bimoba, Chumburung, Farefare, Konkomba and Tampulma. GILLBT anticipates that the whole Bible in two more languages will be dedicated in the coming 18 months– Gonja and Nafaanra.
