Be worthy ambassadors of the nation - Alhaji Asuru

Saltpond, (C/R), Oct 18, GNA - The Mfantseman Municipal Co-ordinating Director, Alhaji Ishaq Asuru, has commended the government on the initiatives taken to make things easy for Muslims who will be performing the Hajj this year.

He, particularly, appreciated the arrangements to facilitate the acquisition of biometric passports by the intended pilgrims.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Saltpond, Alhaji Asuru appealed to the pilgrims to reciprocate the government's gesture by being worthy ambassadors of the country during their stay in Saudi Arabia.

"You must comport yourselves in all things during the pilgrimage," the Coordinating Director stressed.

He reminded them of the spiritual gains the recent Ramadan fasting bestowed on them and urged them to desist from actions which could erode the gains of the fasting.

They must strive to fortify their spirituality with the blessings of the Hajj to make them to withstand the machinations of the devil, he advised.

Alhaji Asuru cautioned them against going back to the old lifestyles they were leading before the fasting, saying they must let people see them as having been born again in Allah.

He advised those who would start the pilgrimage next week to pray for the government and prosperity of the nation and wished them Allah's blessings in their journey to Saudi Arabia.
